Nyx isn't yet signed with Apple Developer ID, so macOS shows this on first launch:

“Nyx” is damaged and can't be opened.

One terminal command unblocks it for good.

1Drag Nyx into Applications

Open the downloaded .dmg and drag the Nyx icon into the Applications folder.

2Run this in Terminalrecommended

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Nyx.app

Strips the quarantine flag so macOS lets Nyx launch. One time only.

3Launch Nyx

Open it from Applications. Subsequent launches work normally.

No terminal? Right-click Nyx in Applications → Open → confirm. This works on some macOS versions but the command above is more reliable.

We'll switch to a signed & notarized build once our Apple Developer account is active.
