$xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Nyx.app

Strips the com.apple.quarantine flag — macOS will stop asking for confirmation. Double-click Nyx and it just opens. Skip to the done block below.

Double-click Nyx — macOS will block it

macOS shows “Nyx not opened. Apple could not verify Nyx is free of malware.” This is expected — we're not yet signed with Apple Developer ID. Just click Done to dismiss.

“Nyx” Not Opened
Apple could not verify “Nyx” is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy.
3

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security

Scroll to the Security section. You'll see “Nyx was blocked to protect your Mac.” Click Open Anyway and enter your password when prompted.

Confirm Open Anyway

One more confirmation dialog appears. This time click Open Anyway (the middle option). Nyx launches — and all future launches open instantly without any dialogs.

Open “Nyx”?
Apple is not able to verify that it is free from malware. Don't open this unless you are certain it is from a trustworthy source.
That's it. You only do this once.
Every subsequent launch opens Nyx normally — no dialogs, no Settings. Future updates install silently via the in-app updater. We'll switch to a fully signed & notarized build once our Apple Developer account is active.
Want to skip all this? Use the one-line installer — no warnings, no Settings, ~10 seconds.
